About the Grant

The Ping Taylor Professional Fellows Grant program is named to honor the iconic American educator and former chair of CIEE, Dr. Charles Ping, and the founder of AIFS, Sir Cyril Taylor. Dr. Ping and Sir Taylor devoted their professional careers to international education and exchange, with a special focus on mentoring and developing exceptional leaders to expand the field and its advancement of world peace.

Supporting higher education administrators and faculty to attend annual conferences led by Diversity Abroad, the Forum on Education Abroad, and NAFSA: Association for International Educators.

Grant Awards

Through the Ping Taylor Professional Fellows Grant, AIFS and CIEE will donate $100,000 over the next three years (beginning in Fall 2022), allowing higher education administrators and faculty to attend annual conferences led by NAFSA: Association for International Educators, Forum on Education Abroad, and Diversity Abroad.

The maximum award per person is $2,000. The amount awarded can be used to cover any conference-related costs including registration, airfare, hotel, and meals.

The Ping Taylor grant will reimburse awardees up to the total amount awarded after attendees participate and submit receipts. Read more about the CIEE and AIFS partnership

Fellows Grant Eligibility

AIFS and CIEE seek to support the professional development of the next generation of exceptional leaders in international education programs.  Successful applicants will be

  • Based in the U.S.
  • Full-time professionals in Education Abroad

Special emphasis will be given to

  • Individuals with demonstrated need who may otherwise be unable to attend the conference without financial assistance
  • Individuals from diverse backgrounds underrepresented in the field
  • Individuals who are employed at MSIs (i.e. HBCUs, HSIs, AANAPISIs, and tribal colleges)
  • Individuals who have never attended an annual conference
