Are there any personal safety concerns I should be aware of in Chile?

Chile is one of the safest countries in all of the Americas. Santiago, like any big city, has good and bad areas. Violent crime is rare, but petty robbery and pick-pocketing can be common in certain areas. It’s important to maintain common sense and behave as you would in any other big city in the world.

Can I be placed at the same school with friends or colleagues?

Friends and family are welcome to apply together! While the employer is happy to have groups come, it’s important to recognize that applying at the same time doesn’t guarantee that visas will be approved at the same time.

Can I stay for longer than my initial contract?

For sure! Contracts are for one year, but they’re renewable. Many teachers have been with this employer for years. The initial visa that is provided is a 2-year temporary residency visa, but teachers are able to apply for permanent residency at the end of that time. The employer is more than happy to help with that process as well.

Can I use the employer in Chile as a reference for future employment?

Yes! The employer can serve as a reference for future employment ventures.

Are there any additional benefits I should consider?

In addition to normal compensation, the employer also offers possible bonuses for student course continuations or referrals, as well potential opportunities to be involved in projects with social media or content creation for the curriculum. They also offer Spanish classes!
