Ruby Herrera

Global Entrepreneurship Dublin, Ireland
Hometown: Watsonville, California

Ruby Herrera is an experienced returning Program Leader for the Culture and Language program.  She is a heritage Spanish speaker originally from California, of Mexican descendancy and is happy to call Iowa home for the last 28 years. The end goal both as a parent of a 17 year old daughter and educator of 14 years, is that students take learning beyond the four walls of a classroom and emerge themselves in the culture of the host country. The best approach to fully enjoying the study abroad experience for and her students has been: keeping an open mind and heart to the new adventures yet to come! Favorite quotes: "Si se Puede" -social activist Dolores Huerta and "To learn a language is to have one more window open from which to look at the world" -Chinese proverb
