We had an impressive bike ride through Phoenix Park.  This park is one of the largest enclosed public parks in Europe.  It is home to the tallest obelisk in Europe which is the Wellington Testimonial.  We also rode by the US Embassador's Residence, St. Mary's Hospital, and Dublin Zoo.  We got a nice ice cream treat before ending the tour.

Sean Fitzgerald met us on the Grattan Bridge near Capel Street.  He is a local balladeer who connects Irish folk music to the city of Dublin.  He was an engaging storyteller who taught us a lot about the city through his stories and songs.

The Viking Splash Tour is a necessity for tourists.  It is yet another way to see Dublin and learn about the history.  We rode on an amphibious vehicle called a Dukw.  It was built by the General Motors Corporation during WW2.  We went along the Grand Canal Basin by water and see  the old Boland’s Mill, famous as one of the battlegrounds of the 1916 rising and the U2 recording studios.
