A Weekend in Western Ireland
On Thursday, the students left Dublin and headed to Eclipse Adventure Center, in county Kerry on the West of Ireland. After a 4 hour bus ride, we made it to the Adventure Center and started activities straight away. The group got into the competitive spirit with a scavenger hunt across the site grounds.. They solved multiple riddles to earn points towards victory. After the scavenger hunt, the group including Global Entrepreneurship students, split into three to complete an obstacle course. The obstacle course included various activities such as rope swings, and a bog run to name a few!. After a very muddy afternoon, it was time for dinner and to chill around the bonfire.
The following morning, the group started the day with breakfast before getting ready to take part in the day's planned activities of raft building and kayaking. Half of the students tried their hand at creating a raft that could hold up to 6 students. This activity gave students the opportunity to work collaboratively and work successfully in a team. Meanwhile, other students kayaked around the lake before playing a football-like game in the kayaks.. After our time on the water, some of the students got ready to go on a coastal walk. Others stayed behind to cozy up and watch movies or catch up after a busy morning!. After a long day, we had a barbecue before warming up around the final bonfire of the weekend. After an action packed two days we packed up and headed back to Dublin for the final week of the programme.
