The Women for Environmental Action (WEA) recently embarked on a dynamic and empowering weekend filled with adventure, friendship, and nature! From acroyoga workshops to hiking through lush landscapes and ziplining high above the forest canopy, the WEA really challenged themselves this weekend!

First, they participated in an acroyoga workshop, where participants worked together and tested their strength to perform yoga positions with partners. They balanced, supported, and trusted each other in different yoga poses. Acroyoga not only tested their physical strength, but also fostered teamwork and communication among the group. Following yoga, students then enjoyed pizza, desserts, and more at a local restaurant!

On Saturday, students traveled to the El Tigre waterfalls. The hike was challenging but rewarding, with many waterfalls and hanging bridges along the way. The hike reinforced students' commitment to environmental awareness and appreciation for the natural world. After hiking, students rode horses back up the trail to a restaurant, where they enjoyed a delicious lunch with breathtaking views.

On Sunday, the WEA group continued to challenge themselves and try new things by going ziplining! Students went high up into forest and ziplined through the canopy. Suspended high above the ground, students zipped from platform to platform. Some girls even chose to do the Tarzan swing, which involved a backward plunge followed by exhilarating swings through the air.

WEA’s action-packed weekend involved embracing challenges and forging deeper connections, as well as being surrounded by the beautiful natural environment of Monteverde. The adventures will continue in the final week of the program!
