London is at the cutting edge of the arts scene and provides access to music, fashion, free museums, comedy, and theater. There are abundant opportunities for enjoying London – with eight Royal Parks right in the heart of the city and more green space than any comparable city in the world.

Students commute to their internships and most program activities via public transportation. CIEE provides an introduction to the system during orientation, and students are responsible for securing their own public transportation pass. Program housing is convenient to public transportation and all internship locations are accessible.
CIEE London is within walking distance of all the tourist highlights of the city but it is also tucked away in the University district. Located in a beautiful Georgian square just moments from the British Museum and 10 minutes from Trafalgar Square and its art galleries, CIEE London has a lounge, cafe and, study areas - perfect for meeting up with fellow students outside of class. It is right at the heart of central London and the perfect place for exploring the city. In the Center, you are a 10-minute walk from the British Library, a 15-minute walk from seeing the free-ranging pelicans in St. James’s Park, a 20-minute walk to the London Eye.
CIEE wants all our students to feel welcomed, supported, and empowered to succeed while studying abroad. Local CIEE staff have provided details about conditions and cultural attitudes that students with specific identities might encounter in London.

HOUSING & MEALS
Housing
CIEE London offers a range of housing options, including residence halls or shared apartments, to ensure you're comfortable in your home away from home. All housing options are located in neighborhoods with convenient access to public transportation, shops, cafés, and eateries.
Standard Housing: Includes a compact double studio room at a student residence hall or a double room within a shared apartment. Shared apartments feature a kitchen, bathroom, common areas, and laundry facilities shared with other students. Residence halls boast common areas, a small kitchen, a shared bathroom, and laundry facilities. Housing is located within 45 minutes of the city center.
Select Housing: Includes a double studio room at a student residence hall or a double room within a shared apartment, with an en-suite bathroom and a shared kitchen. The residence hall boasts common areas, study rooms, and laundry facilities shared with other students. The residence hall is located within 30 minutes of the city center. Select housing requires an additional fee.
A note: The default criterion to assign housing is first-come, first-served; however, other factors may also be considered. If we cannot accommodate your first housing choice, we'll let you know before you arrive.
Meals
No meals are provided in residence halls or apartments. Students are responsible for lunches. Students will have access to kitchen facilities to cook their own meals or can take advantage of the many neighborhood cafes and restaurants.
Transportation
Commute time from housing location to internship will vary depending on the location of the internship provider.
Academics
As a global intern in London, you’ll work in a non-paying position within a wide range of opportunities across a diverse set of innovative industries. Extra-curricular cultural activities in and around London complement your coursework and immerse you in the history and culture of the city.
This eight-week program includes a full-time internship and an integrated online academic course.

Dates & Fees
You get more for every dollar when you study abroad with CIEE, because our high-quality programs include everything from excursions to insurance. There are no hidden charges, and no disappointing surprises when you arrive.
To help you budget, keep in mind that students are responsible for the cost of international airfare, local transportation, books and supplies, visas, and personal expenses. In addition, your college or university may charge additional fees for study abroad, or may require you to receive a transcript via CIEE's School of Record, which carries an additional fee of $500.
